Mission

The East Texas Chapter of the Texas Society of CPA’s exists to serve its members by identifying the unique needs of CPAs in the chapter area and providing a forum to meet those needs.

Goals

For 2011-2012, the goal of the TSCPA Chairman is to for the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants to become STRONGER, more DIVERSE, yet UNITED.

The East Texas Chapter of Certified Public Accountants will assist with these goals by continuing to offer quality continuing education as well as provide a forum for volunteerism.  With the backing of the State Chapter, membership in the local Chapter provides financial training resources, personal growth through the mentoring program, and educational opportunities.

Our aim is to become more diverse in the makeup of our membership by encouraging students to seek the CPA designation.  This encouragement is provided via presentations to High School students, connections with local colleges/Beta Alpha Psi Chapters, as well as providing scholarships to local accounting students.

The Chapter seeks to become more united by not only offering social gatherings that support our Educational Fund but by also providing information that may have an impact on our profession.  Our goal is to encourage all members of the Chapter to take an active role in protecting the CPA Certificate and upholding the profession.
