MISSION

The East Texas Chapter of the Texas Society of CPA’s exists to serve its members by identifying the unique needs of CPAs in the chapter area and providing a forum to meet those needs.

Share Your Passion for the Profession!

The East Texas Chapter of the Texas Society of CPA’s will advocate this theme as our primary objective for the 2008-2009 year.

GOALS

For 2008-2009, the East Texas Chapter of the Texas Society of CPA’s will have the following goals to promote this leadership theme.

1. Accounting Awareness - From universities, to junior colleges, to high schools, we need
your help to get the word out about how great it is to be a CPA!

 2. Internships - Offering an internship opportunity to an accounting student greatly
increases your chances of finding and keeping a wonderful employee!
 
3. Mentorships - TSCPA introduced E-mentoring to assist in connecting to and network-
ing with members. If you’re interested in helping other CPAs personally and profession-
ally, or being mentored by another CPA, sign up on the TSCPA website now!
 
4. Diversity and Inclusiveness - A new state level task force has been established and a
new Chapter committee formed to foster a climate that doesn’t just tolerate differ-
ences but treasures them, and provides rich opportunities for learning from them!

5. Legislative Year 2009 - Margin Tax, Margin Tax, Margin Tax!
