As
you know, an accounting major who wants to sit for the CPA exam must
now complete a 150 hour, (i.e.-5 year) degree program. The cost of this
extra year of education will ultimately impact businesses that rely on
CPA’s, as well as public accounting firms. Our chapter believes that
having scholarship dollars available for students may make the
difference in a student’s decision to work towards the five-year
accounting degree versus a four-year degree. The result will be
professionals who are more qualified to deal with today’s business
environment. This is great for the student and for all of us who employ

East Texas CPA Educational Fund, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization whose
primary purpose is to provide educational scholarships to accounting
students based upon financial need and academic achievement.

holds an annual golf tournament as our major fundraiser on behalf of
the Educational Fund, and all proceeds after direct tournament expenses
